Art Exhibition – Dates Extended

The success of the exhibition of paintings at the Canal Visitor Centre at Wallbridge Lock means that the showing has been extended to run through August.

The collection of work, entitled Canal Reflections, was carried out by students of Stroud art teacher Julia Christie. It has proved to be a major draw for visitors to the Centre.

“Sales of the pictures are exceeding all expectations” said Centre Sales Manager Jill Field.

Julia Christie also enthused… “Reaction to the whole collection has been so positive that artist’s confidence levels have been boosted correspondingly.”

Julia went on to comment that the programme had come at an opportune time. “The exercise has served to focus everyone’s attention on the canal restoration, artists and viewers alike!"

"It has also been a pleasure dealing with the Cotswold Canals Trust people at the Visitor Centre. They welcomed the artists and organised the whole thing in a very professional way.”
