IWA Waterways Pageant at Saul Junction
The Inland Waterways Association Events Team have announced an August Bank Holiday boating event at the junction of the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal and Stroudwater Navigation on the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal. It will run from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August 2014.
New look event
Events Team Chair Kevin Woods says…
"It is a new look event aimed at IWA members, boaters and campers.
"The event is entitled Saul Waterways Pageant and will focus on waterway activities with a programme of competitions including boat handling, canoeing, tug of war, Best Boat in Bloom, illuminated boat display, best kept engine room."
Plans are also being made for a Trade & Craft show and Boat Jumble.
Celebrating Cotswold Canals Restoration Saul Waterways Pageant will celebrate the restoration work taking place on the Cotswold Canals, and promote the forthcoming Heritage Lottery bid by the Cotswold Canals Trust.

Restoration in action
During Saul Waterways Pageant IWA's Waterway Recovery Group (WRG) will be working with the Cotswold Canals Trust on the restoration of Ham Mill and Bowbridge Locks near Stroud. The public are invited to come along to those sites to see the 'wrgies' in action.
