Canal Realignment at Capels Mill is recognised in the 2014 Campaign to Protect Rural England (Gloucestershire) Awards. 

Viscount Bledisloe presents award

The 2014 CPRE (Gloucestershire) Awards were presented by Viscount Rupert Bledisloe on Wednesday 1st October, at the Gambier Parry Hall at Highnam.

The CPRE citation states

For an inspired and elegant solution to the realignment of the canal in a location that posed a wide range of difficult engineering and environmental problems; and for using volunteers, local businesses and the community to help transform an old tip into an important area of waterside parkland.
