Bright Stars in Winter — Canal Concert survives the snow!
The Cotswold Canal Trust Christmas Concert, postponed due to snow falls in early December, will now take place at 7.30pm on Sunday, 21st January, at St Cyr’s Church, Church Lane, Stonehouse, GL10 3QP. Click here, or on the image below, for Google Map of the area.
The highlight of the concert will be Benjamin Britten’s ‘Ceremony of Carols’, sung by the Cotswold Canal Singers; accompanied by harpist Jemima Philips.
Seasonal songs and new setting of a 15th-century work
The singers will perform other seasonal songs and carols, including a new setting of ‘Adam lay i-bounden’ by conductor Hugh Barton.
Major Pipework Recorder Consort will also perform.

A fundraising event
Funds raised by this concert will support ‘Stroudwater Navigation Connected’, the project to complete restoration of the Stroudwater Navigation,
from The Ocean, Stonehouse to Saul Junction.
This project is the focus of a new bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, made by Stroud District Council and its partners, including the Cotswold Canals Trust, on 30th November 2017. The Heritage Lottery Fund decision will be made in April 2018.
