Hello and welcome to ENews 2010-08.
A shorter than usual edition this time as all the items relate to imminent events.
If you notice a break in the sequential numbering of ENews meaning you have missed an issue – this can happen for a variety of reasons – there is always a copy of the latest one displayed at www.cctmembers-newsletter.co.uk together with a full archive from Day 1 back on 3rd April 2006.
VITAL VOLUNTEERING VACANCIES
There are some gaps this coming Saturday and Sunday (17th/18th) in the crew rosters for Saul's trip boat Perseverance and Lechlade's trip boat Inglesham – can you help at all?
If so please visit the appropriate roster on the Connect website at www.cct.teamconnect.org.uk and complete one or more of the pink squares if you possibly can.
The annual Boat Jumble at Gloucester Docks takes place on Sunday 18th as well. As I mentioned in a recent edition of ENews this has proved to be quite a financially lucrative occasion in the past.
At the moment there's just Alan & Anna Watts as confirmed organisers/helpers/attendees; Anna is looking for one or two others to lend a hand on the day, between 10:00 and around 14:00 – that's all!
Please contact Anna if you are definitely available for what is just a few hours – firstname.lastname@example.org or 07976 617983. I know for a fact she would really love to hear from you.
Sharpness Marina is organising a Boaters' Spring Get Together on Saturday 24th April at the Sharpness Dock Workers' Club from 19:30.
Club Steward Penny will produce one of her renowned buffets to accompany activities including killer skittles, roll a coin for a bottle of whisky (that I missed by half an inch last time) and music for those who want to boogie on down I think they say.
Tickets are just £5 per person, primarily to cover the cost of the buffet, and are available from Penny at the Club, telephone 01453 811477.
All proceeds of the evening will be donated to the British Heart Foundation in memory of Roger Wells.
WE'RE ON THE TELLY
Keep the early evening of the 25th April free if you can – so you can watch Countryfile on BBC 1.
The team were down filming all day on the 13th in delightful weather, fortunately. Their footage includes the recently cleared canal at Ryeford, some tree branch removal, the dredger in operation and progress on the new Eastington trip boat.
How much avoids the cutting room floor will be available for all to see during the programme, which is scheduled to be broadcast at 19:00 on Sunday.

Any newsworthy items for consideration should be sent to email@example.com but please remember I am always looking for a connection with the Stroudwater, the Thames & Severn or the CCT – however tenuous.
