Hello and welcome to ENews 2011-08.
A wholly unquantifiable number of subscribers have not received an issue of ENews since 2011-05 went out on the 20th May – however I acknowledge that many subscribers have received subsequent issues without problem.
If you are in the former category you can view the missing issues by going to the newsletter website at www.cctmembers-newsletter.co.uk and following the Archive 2011 link.
After all the recent trials and tribulations surrounding the publication and distribution of ENews we think that a hopefully temporary but long-winded solution has been found to the underlying problem. It will involve spreading the issue of ENews over a minimum 24-hour period whilst research is undertaken to ascertain whether a more appropriate server is available at what is considered to be a realistic cost to the Trust.
Thank you all for your forbearance during this awkward period.
I feel it is worth repeating the following item from 2011-07 for the benefit of the significant number amongst the mailing list who I know did not receive a copy. My apologies for the repetition to those that did.
Trust Chief Executive Ken Burgin has got things moving on the proposed hydro project for Dudbridge Locks. There is a website called energyshare upon which groups applying for grants can register, and Ken has set up a group for this project. Further details can be found at http://www.energyshare.com/dudbridge-locks-hydro/
Meanwhile Ken says:
"What we need to do now is to get a good number of members/supporters to register on the energyshare webpage. Once registered, they then need to register as supporters of our project by the 30th June at the very latest.
"The 100 projects with the most supporters will be invited to fill in an application form. Assuming we get into the top 100, an invitation will be issued on 4th July to formally apply."
The registration process is straightforward and, as Ken says, once you are registered then you need to become a supporter of the Dudbridge Hydro project.
There is the opportunity to promote this on both Facebook and Twitter; could you be interested in running this side of things to promote the project wherever possible? If so Ken would dearly like to hear from you, firstname.lastname@example.org
Work has started on the lottery bid for Phase 1B, the stretch from the Ocean at Stonehouse westwards to Saul Junction.
Whilst it's early days you can get some idea of what has happened so far by going to www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/Canal-project-bid-lottery-millions/story-12771887-detail/story.html

The primary objective of ENews is to keep members, volunteers and subscribers up to date with what is happening within the Cotswold Canals Trust as a whole. Any and all feedback is more than welcome.
Any newsworthy items for consideration should be sent to email@example.com but please remember I am always looking for a connection with the Stroudwater, the Thames & Severn or the CCT – however tenuous.
Both the Trust website www.cotswoldcanals.com and the Partnership website www.cotswoldcanalsproject.org are good sources of information on restoration progress with up to date news articles and pictures of progress.
You can receive a Twitter feed from the Cotswold Canals Partnership from http://www.twitter.com/cotswoldcanals direct to your mobile or PC.
If you think you have missed an issue of ENews a copy of the latest one is displayed at www.cctmembers-newsletter.co.uk and there is a full archive back to April 2006 when the first issue was published.
