Greetings and a warm welcome to ENews No 54, especially to those of you who have joined us following the Tall Ships weekend in Gloucester Docks.
Thanks to the IWA for suggesting the Cotswold Canals Trust attended this event and congratulations to all involved in the organisation of such a superb and successful weekend.
SAUL TO THE OCEAN – 'S ALL IN THE BALANCE
The BIG news is that the Partnership's bid for Lottery Funding towards the costs of Phase 1B is still in the running!
We should know the final outcome sometime in November so keep fingers, toes and anything else crossed for a little while longer, please.
A Take That tribute band? No, the Gloucestershire Environmental Trust.
The Waterways Trust has secured £50,000 from them towards the restoration of Oil Mills Bridge and improvements to the towpath in the area.
Good news indeed!
DID THE EARTH MOVE FOR YOU?
It certainly has done at Oil Mills where the digger has been put to good use already.
There are pictures of progress at www.cotswoldcanals.com/Restoration/restoration.htm – there are also some shots of work at Gough's Orchard following the recent weekend Work Party there.
Have a look at http://www.cct.teamconnect.org.uk/display_photo_gallery.php and you'll see that it looks as if some of the bunds in the canal to the west of Ebley Mill are about to be removed.
