Make a difference – Make a phone call
Here is an opportunity to help our waterway neighbours the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust (WBCT). WBCT have applied to the Big Lottery People’s Millions fund for a grant of £50,000 to enable them to create a wildlife trail from a landfill site at Studley Grange, Royal Wootton Bassett. Simply make a phone call.
It worked for us!
The Cotswold Canals Trust has previously received grants from ITV’s “People’s Millions” Lottery namely:
Our success in both awards was due to the tremendous level of support we received from our own Cotswold Canals Trust members and from friends and waterway organisations nationwide.
Landfill to Wildlife Trail
The Studley Grange Wildlife Trail Project will restore a kilometre of canal and create a wildlife friendly place with water, hedges, banks & trees that will encourage water voles, bees, birds and other wildlife.
It will be good for people too – for walkers, cyclists and those those who simply wander and ponder to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Just the cost of a call
As is the custom with the People’s Millions lottery each year, votes will be cast by telephone. The telephone number will be released on the day of the ITV broadcast Wednesday 26th November.
Discover the number
The number will be published in the Daily Mirror on the morning of the 26th.
The Wildlife Trail project will be highlighted during the 30-minute long ITV West Country News at 6pm on Wednesday 26th November. Do make a note in your diary now!
