Five businesses – thirty jobs
There is even more to come. Rob Buckley the Regional Development Manager of Costcutter Supermarkets Group reports that a Mace mini mart is due to open its doors at Ebley Wharf. The store is due to open in mid-September and will employ five people.
It is around 2,000 sq ft in size and has been developed using some of the latest technology to make it as efficient as possible. This includes the latest solar panel technology for the refrigeration, lighting and energy supply which will reduce the overall running costs for the store.
All five business leaders believe in bringing the Ebley Wharf waterside community together as a residential and commercial hub. The five new enterprises at Ebley Wharf will bring over thirty new employment opportunities to this waterside development.
A vision realised
Roland Tanner of developers Stroudwater Redevelopments Partnership comments…
“Some 15 years ago Stroudwater Redevelopment Partnership Limited set about the comprehensive assembly and enabling of a mixed development.
The Village Square has now become the focal point for residents and walkers to meet thereby creating a hub and new heart for The Wharf community.
When Mace move in, the Village Square will be complete and all the units will be occupied. Already, we have seen great numbers of people meeting and enjoying all the Canal has to offer at this location”.
