You may remember this article that appeared in ENews 2013-03 that came out to you a couple of weeks ago:-
"To link Phase 1A of the restoration with Phase 1B there is a challenging obstacle at the moment, namely the railway bridge over the canal at the Ocean, Stonehouse. (OS reference SO797052).
"One of two funding applications submitted by Stroud District Council to the Gloucestershire Local Transport Board is to help finance the cost of rebuilding the bridge in question. (The other is to help fund the Thames and Severn Way route for 12 miles from Saul to Chalford.)
"Much more information about this exciting development can be found at http://www.cotswoldcanals.com/pages/posts/transport-board-funding-application-534.php
"I will if I may draw your attention to one really important element of the process and that is to respond or react in a positive manner, explaining all the benefits as you see them. We are not talking about a simple “Yes/No” vote here; it is more a reasoned argument as to why the funding request should be viewed favourably……..
"This response or reaction can be by letter or email to the GLTB (their address is shown in the website article); if responding by letter please send a copy by email to SDC’s Canal Partnership Manager Dave Marshall, email firstname.lastname@example.org or Cc him in if email is the chosen route."
The deadline for responses is fast approaching, they must be received by Friday 7th June at the very latest.
To misquote a well-known supermarket's catchphrase………..every letter helps!
