Fact & Fiction Raising Funds at Brimscombe Port
Cotswold Canals Trust volunteers now operate a second-hand book shop at Brimscombe Port.
The shop, open on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 10am until 4pm, has been set up within former office premises built on the site of the long since demolished Thames & Severn Canal Headquarters.
Not just books
The shop carries a wide range of books, DVDs, jigsaws, maps and vinyl records.
Raising funds for the restoration
Alan Watts explains… “Becoming a customer, or staff member, are equally ideal ways for people to help raise funds for the restoration without getting ones shoes muddy!
“We invite anyone passing through, or near, Brimscombe Port on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday to drop in for a tea or coffee and a chat; and then of course to browse through the books.
“There is a large stock to select from. Whilst there are waterways related titles on the shelves, we have fiction and non fiction covering many interests and authors.”
Time to spare or tomes to share?
The book shop team operates two shifts per day — 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.
