Paddlers will wear coloured tabards while the kayaks will also be in a range of bright colours.

Come and try it

The site lies in the shadow of the railway viaduct providing rail passengers with fleeting views of the colourful activities. Thirty to forty kayak paddlers are expected to take part.

There will also be two opportunities during the days programme for people to take part in Come & Try It — Taster Sessions.

Free parking for competitors and supporters will be provided in the Stroud District Council Car Park adjacent to the Waitrose site.

Some thanks are due…

Tony Chalk adds… “Stroud Valley Canoe Club and it’s Canoe Fun Day has been made possible by a number of organisations and individuals. These include Stroud District Council, Stroud Valleys Canal Company, Stroud Valleys Project and Cotswold Canals Trust.

“We thank them all. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the event.

“Who knows… it might even develop into an annual occurrence!”
