MORTAR THIS THAN MEETS THE EYE

Remember this from ENews 39 in mid May?

"A 2 day masonry course is planned for Thursdays 5th and 12th July at the Brimscombe Port Walls. The course is being run by Woodchester Mansion and will cover masonry theory, lime mortar and historic masonry repair work."

Well, it starts tomorrow at 9.30 [until around 4.30p.m] and there have been a couple of late withdrawals. BW's Richard Harrison is waiting to hear from you on 07920 790694 if you can fill the gap, so to speak, or point someone in the right direction.

FLOATING AWAY

Now that memories of this year's Saul Festival are draining away and becoming but a puddle in the mind all boaters, campers and advance wristband purchasers will shortly receive a letter from Clive Field the Festival Director. This will set out the background to the cancellation decision, explain the possible financial ramifications for the Cotswold Canals Trust and suggest options available to those entitled to a refund.

As I am sure you can imagine we had not planned for such an exercise and there is a lot of beavering going on behind the scenes at the moment. Rest assured all letters should be despatched by early next week at the latest, so please bear with us in the meantime.
