ENews 52

Greetings, and a warm welcome to ENews No 52, hot on the heels as it is of No. 51.

You'll have to blame my correspondents for the first two "matters requiring adjustment", please….

On Thursday 11th October nothing will be happening………..as the IWA meeting will have taken place a week earlier!

The talk being arranged by the Gloucestershire Branch at the Yacht Club in the Docks on archaeology matters to be given by Matthew Reynolds of Cirencester College is in fact being held on the 4th OCTOBER at 7.30pm.

Further details from Alan Watts, afwatts@btinternet.com

What didn't get mentioned when you dismount from your horse is that the Banbury Canal Day on Sunday 7th October has a pirate theme.

Please consider coming along dressed accordingly, and either Charles Lyne charles_lyne@aardvark-world.org.uk, telephone 01285 713148 or Mike Slade mrmike.slade@googlemail.com telephone 01179 693270 would really love to hear from you if you have any ideas as to how the Roadshow marquee could be decorated appropriately.

This morning's AGM was really well attended – by no less than 68 members.

It was of course Bruce's swansong and he duly obliged by delivering one of his infamous rallying, upbeat oratories. Andy Goss from BW was present and he was able to confirm that Morrison's – the contractors that is, not the Every Little Helps or Try Something Different Today lot – will be getting things ready next week and starting the dig out the week after!

Bruce told us about the formation of a Phase 1A Delivery Group comprising CCT, BW, Gloucestershire County and Stroud District Councils. He has been asked to be Chairman, so as he'll be working on a freelance basis woe betides anyone who gets obstreperous or obstructive……..

Good luck Bruce – we are counting on you to get 1A rolling along, and to get it to come in within budget and within timescale!

The objective of ENews is to advise, inform and update. And maybe even to amuse from time to time.

I have not got a digit in every orifice, so please feel free to send any newsworthy items you would like to be considered for inclusion to postmaster@cctmembers-newsletter.co.uk
