Merrywalks Bridge Bulletin No. 25

Merrywalks Bridge Bulletin No.25  An update from Nigel Edgeworth

Most of the north wall has now been completed with the concrete pour having taken place on Monday 18th October.

This week, steel fixers have been working on placing the reinforcing steel for the south wall of the bridge. See picture right.

A concrete pour is planned for later next week.

Work is continuing on forming the headwall for the Slad Brook outfall. The base slab has now been cast and steel fixers are currently placing steel to form the headwall. See picture left.

Recycling the recycled!

Early on in the scheme we used recycled aggregate material provided by Stroud District Council to support piling equipment for the construction of reinforced concrete piles.
This material has been used extensively throughout the site to provide ramps and the like.

We have now finished with this material and the contractor has started taking it to Ryeford where it will be reused in canal works.
