Phase 1B Cotswold Canals Connected Project – The Missing Mile Planning Application

The planning application for the Missing Mile between Oldbury Brook, just upstream of the buried Westfield Lock at the bottom of the Eastington Flight of locks on the Stroudwater Canal, and the A38 has been submitted to Stroud District Council by the Stroud Valleys Canal Company. This is a key section of the four mile Phase 1B Cotswold Canals Connected project and replaces the section lost when the M5 was built. It includes two new locks, a crossing under the M5, two boat mooring basins and a mile of new canal on a new route. The application is an essential part of Development Stage work leading up to the second stage lottery Heritage Fund bid in November. Full details can be accessed by going to:
