Restoration Appeal 2015

Restoration Appeal 2015 – A message from CCT Treasurer Trudy Ayre

If you are willing to donate at least £2.50 per week towards the restoration of The Cotswold Canals please read on.

First Phase nears completion

You will probably be aware that Phase 1A, financed largely by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), is nearing completion.

December 2015 is the target date.

The final stages

Stroud District Council (SDC), as Lead Partner, recently commenced restoration of Lower Wallbridge Lock. Plans are also well advanced to install a new single pylon lift bridge at Lodgemore.

Griffin Mill Lock (1st photo) has been restored by Cotswold Canals Trust (CCT) volunteers. Bowbridge and Ham Mill Locks are currently being restored by volunteers drawn from CCT, Waterways Recovery Group and the wider community.

Ham Mill Lock volunteers are pictured right.

CCT is contributing to the cost of dredging pounds between locks and creating a water supply to the canal. It may be necessary to use a small proportion of the proceeds of the 2015 Restoration Appeal for these projects.
