Autumn Draw Results
CCT’s Autumn Three Hundred Club draw took place on Tuesday 27th September at The Cotswold Canals Trust Visitor Centre at Bell House, Wallbridge Lock. The Three Hundred Club is the Trust’s lottery held every January, April, July and October.
Three Hundred Club Manager Diana Edwards took the opportunity to meet up with the ‘Tuesday & Thursday‘ Canal Restoration Team Volunteers at their weekly briefing session.
The group, organised and led by Stroud District Council’s Volunteer Coordinators Jon Pontefract and Paul Weller, is currently engaged in the installation of the canal channel retaining wall above Wallbridge Lower Lock.
Pictured pressing the winners’ selection button is Richard Jardine.
Richard is something of a rugby celebrity. He was a regular first team choice as centre for Gloucester Rugby between 1967 and 1980. Richard’s skills led him to wear the Red Rose of England on his shirt. (Rugby shirts in those days had turned up collars and long sleeves of course!)
Richard now maintains his fitness as an active member of the canal restoration team. Click here, or on the image above to read more about Richard’s rugby playing career.
